10:30 am Departure to the “El Bolivariano” restaurant in Pueblo Libre. A Peruvian Cuisine video featuring main courses, desserts and beverages will be shown on the way.
PREPARATION OF PISCO SOUR AND CEVICHE
11:00 am Arrival at the “El Bolivariano” restaurant, a traditional eatery where we will enjoy a demonstration of how ceviche, our most representativedish, is prepared as well as the mixing and a tasting of a delicious pisco sour, our world famous cocktail.
BUFFET LUNCH AND TASTING OF THE MOST TRADITIONAL PERUVIAN CUISINE DISHES
We will continue our journey at another well known restaurant in order to taste more traditional Peruvian cuisine dishes and desserts.
2:00 pm We begin our tour driving through the modern residential districts of Miraflores and San Isidro. We will pass through the Financial Center, the Lima Golf Club, the Olive Groves and the Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca ceremonial pyramid-shape temple that has survived Lima’s wild urban sprawl. We will stop at Parque del Amor (Love Park) and enjoy a nice view of the Pacific Ocean, as we drive down the Miraflores Malecon, a road along the cliffs overlooking the ocean.
We continue our journey into downtown Lima’s Historical Center, acknowledgedas a Heritage of Humanitysite in 1991 by UNESCO.
This is where the Spanish colony was established and where the first buildings were erected in the 16th century. We will get to see Plaza San Martin, the balconies and the old mansions, the Plaza Mayor and the most important buildings around it, such as the Government Palace, the Lima Cathedral and the Archbishop’s Palace; City Hall, the DesamparadosTrain Station and many othersites.
SAN FRANCISCO CONVENT AND CATACOMBS
We will visit the San Francisco Convent, one of the most important in the Seventeenth century. You will see the old Library, the Choir, the main cloister and the underground crypts called Catacombs. After the tour is over you can choose to either shop at the Indian Market, shop at Larcomar or return to
